Mary Clark
Mary Clark grew up on the New Hampshire seacoast and currently lives in Kittery, ME with her husband and two young children. She has served on HAVEN’s Board of Directors since 2019. A graduate of the University of New Hampshire's Family Studies program, Mary’s senior year internship turned into a career working in Victim Assistance for the Strafford County Attorney’s Office. This role involved frequent interactions with HAVEN advocates in courtrooms, forensic interviews, multidisciplinary team case reviews, and emergency service referrals.
Now a stay-at-home mom to her daughter and son, Mary continues her commitment to violence prevention through her leadership on the board. She is passionate about building safer communities and supporting programs that empower individuals and families to heal and thrive. In her free time, Mary can be found enjoying our area's many beaches with her kids and three dogs.

Kristina Goumas
Kristina’s background and expertise includes 25+ years in the public sector technology space, leading government agencies and corporations through strategic software maintenance acquisitions. She has maintained year-over-year revenue growth, enabling her team to be recognized for surpassing revenue goals for the last 25 years. Her expertise includes leading successful and strategic account management for defense, intelligence and civilian government agency customers.
Kristina is passionate about ensuring gender equality. She is the co-founder of SAP NS2 Women’s Initiative Network (WIN) and serves as executive sponsor. WIN was established in 2019 with the mission of advancing women at NS2 through professional development, mentorship programs and women in leadership speaker series. Kristina has moderated compelling conversations for the WIN speaker series with inspirational thought leaders, including best-selling author Glennon Doyle, award-winning journalist Lisa Ling, philanthropist and CEO of FEED, Lauren Bush Lauren and F/A-18 Fighter Pilot “Jet Girl” Caroline Johnson. She was spotlighted in the Women We Admire “Top 50 Women Leaders of New Hampshire” for 2023 and 2024.
Kristina serves as a board member of the National Philoptochos Society and sits on the board of directors at HAVEN, the largest violence prevention and support services agency in New Hampshire. She is passionate about ending violence and changing lives so that communities can seek hope, heal and thrive. She is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, where she majored in business administration at the Peter T. Paul College of Business & Economics (formally Whittemore School of Business & Economics).

Marc Ouelette
Marc Ouellette, originally from the New Hampshire Seacoast, now resides in Summerville, SC, where he relocated to be closer to his parents during their retirement. He has been actively involved with Haven since 2009, beginning as a Board Member with A Safe Place and contributing to the successful merger with SASS in 2015. In 2016, Marc pursued his master’s degree at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, building on his 30-year career in banking. His professional background includes strategic business planning, financial management, fundraising, and fostering connections between Haven and the broader community.
Over the years, Marc has served as Treasurer, Co-Chair, and now Immediate Past Chair of the Board. He continues to play an active role on the Executive, Finance, and Governance Committees. Despite living at a distance, Marc remains deeply committed to Haven’s mission, supporting its domestic violence and sexual assault prevention initiatives through his leadership and advocacy.

Robert (Bobby) Eckstein
Robert (Bobby) Eckstein, Psy.D. Bobby Eckstein is a Principal Lecturer in Psychology and Justice Studies at the University of New Hampshire and a Faculty Fellow with the Prevention Innovations Research Center. He co-authored the Bringing in the Bystander® program and has trained facilitators, on the implementation of this program, across North America and Europe. A clinical psychologist by training, Bobby brings deep expertise in violence prevention and community engagement to HAVEN NH’s Board of Directors.

Jayne Begala
Jayne Begala returned to her hometown of Portsmouth upon retirement from an international public health career that included working with nongovernment organizations all over the world during the global response to HIV/AIDS and to orphans and vulnerable children. She has a MSPH in Epidemiology from UCLA and a MBA in Nonprofit Management from Brandeis University, and is honored to use her education and experience on behalf of Haven.
She serves on the Development Committee, the Capital Steering Committee, and as Chair of the Program Committee, working to improve the quality and array of Haven’s programs and services. Ms. Begala has served on the Board since 2019. As National Vice President of Customer Success & Sales at SAP NS2, Kristina Goumas is responsible for a leading line of business, supporting customers with a national security focus.

Donna Gandt
Donna has lived on the NH seacoast for over 20 years and is proud to call this area home. After a corporate career in technology and sales, she recently started a leadership coaching business and works with clients in various leadership roles across corporate, nonprofit, and public service fields. Donna's professional work focuses in part on helping women overcome challenges associated with traditional expectations, break through glass ceilings, and reframe opportunities to gain greater agency and fulfillment in their personal and professional lives. That philosophy of empowerment and agency is the cornerstone of her interest in helping HAVEN increase its impact throughout the seacoast and she joined the board in August 2025.
Donna is the proud mom of two amazing (almost grown) children and a rescue cat and dog; she spends her time walking the beach, riding bikes, hiking hills, foraging for edible mushrooms, visiting local restaurants, and generally enjoying all our beautiful state has to offer. She has an executive coaching certificate from Georgetown University, an MBA from Boston University, an engineering degree from Stevens Institute of Technology, and is a proud veteran of the US Navy.

Jay Lieberman
Jay Lieberman is a graduate of the University of Missouri–Columbia. He currently resides with his family in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. With a professional background rooted in civic engagement, Jay is committed to contributing meaningfully to his local community. This led him to HAVEN, where he sought opportunities to make a more direct and positive impact. Jay was elected as a Portsmouth Police Commissioner in 2025, reflecting his ongoing dedication to public service and community involvement. Jay is an avid observer of local politics, doing kettlebell workouts, and being a good dog dad to his Golden Retriever, Bodie.

Vanessa McElroy
Vanessa McElroy is originally from Texas and has been living in Portsmouth for a little over 20 years. She is a former Senior Director of Product Management in the footwear industry working for New England based companies including Timberland, Cole Haan, and Sperry. Vanessa is inspired to serve her community through board work and strategy development for several non-profits in the area.
She previously served as a HAVEN board member from 2017 through 2021 and is passionate about HAVEN's Prevention Education program and empowering kids to advocate for themselves. Vanessa loves cooking and enjoys traveling with her husband and two children.

Steve Pappajohn
Steve is a native "Granite Stater" who has lived in New Hampshire seacoast area since 1998. He, his wife, daughter and two dogs currently reside in Madbury, NH. Steve has been with the City of Dover Police Department since October 2026 in the role as their Youth Services Coordinator, where his main responsibility is as the Director of the Dover Teen Center.
The Dover Teen Center provides a safe place for Dover teens to explore life skill enhancement, including, but not limited to social development, the arts and recreation through after school programming during the school year and a summer adventure program. He has served on HAVEN's Board of Directors since 2020.
Steve enjoys a variety of recreational activities when he isn't busy with his work responsibilities, which include service projects with the Rotary club, men's softball, golfing, attending live sporting events, trips to the family lake house and spending time with friends taking in live music and performances.

Devan Quinn
Devan Quinn (she/her) is the Director of Policy at the New Hampshire Women’s Foundation, overseeing research, policy, and advocacy programs. With a background in non-profit advocacy, policy analysis, and political campaigns, Devan has spent her career focusing on the health, safety, and empowerment of women and their families.
Previously, Devan worked on political campaigns, in the New Hampshire Governor’s office, as a domestic violence crisis center advocate, as a children’s health advocate, and managed grants for children’s mental health programs.
Devan has a B.A. from George Washington University and a Master of Public Policy from Brandeis University. Devan is passionate about collaborating for systemic solutions that treat people with dignity at the state and local level. Devan lives in Portsmouth with her husband James and sons Sam and Jonah.
